Not an old fashioned you order in New York. Or Boston. Or at a trendy speakeasy that requires you to walk through a convenience store facade to get to. It’s what you get a dive bar in Oostburg, WI. Or at a Friday fish fry in Ashwaubenon, WI. How we make this drink is different than anywhere else.

Katie has been tinkering with this blend for 7+ years before releasing it as an official Yeti. Wisconsinites hold this particular cocktail in such reverence that this candle has to smell right. It’s neither sweet nor sour. It’s closer to a press. It’s a heavy pour of brandy muddled with the electric red maraschino cherries and a few dashes of bitters. And it’s garnished with an orange slice.

This candle is not patronizing and syrupy sweet. And it’s not an overwhelming punch of generic brown liquor. Rather it’s a complex blend of all the components of this classic cocktail.
